Zank, Leona W. (1892 - 1990)
Leona W. Zank, 97, Marshfield, died Saturday,
Aug. 4, 1990, at Marshfield Living Center, Marshfield. Funeral
services were held Tuesday, Aug. 7, 1990, at 1 p.m. at Pine Valley
Lutheran Church, Neillsville. Rev. Alice Hill officiated and burial
was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Family and friends served as
pallbearers.
Leona Sukow was born Aug. 30, 1892, in Oshkosh, to Charles and
Augusta (nee Bruesemeister) Sukow. She received her education in
Oshkosh and also at Silver Crest School in rural Neillsville. After
school she worked in the home. She married Emil Zank Oct. 6, 1910,
in Neillsville. He preceded her in death April 24, 1962. After her
marriage she and her husband lived in the Neillsville area. She was
a member of Pine Valley Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Elsie Zank, Neillsville Mrs.
Rufus (Clara) Karl, Neillsville and Mrs. William (Gladys) Schaal,
Sarasota, Fla. five grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters
and one brother.
Gesche Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
