Klanchar, William (1941 - 1990)

Services were held Thursday, Aug. 2, 1990, at 10 a.m. at Kurtz-Luko Funeral Home, Hartland, for William Klanchar, 49, better known as musky Bill to people in fishing circles.

William Klanchar was born inn rock Dam, to Anthony and Frances Klanchar, former Willard area residents. He spent most of life doing what he liked best, fishing and hunting. He was one of the more colorful people in the fishing lore of the Pewaukee Lake area. A good fisherman and friend to many, he ran a successful tavern, boat launch and marina business on the west end of Pewaukee Lake for 15 years, until ill health forced him to sell the businesses.

Survivors include his parents, Anthony and Frances Klanchar, New Berlin two daughters, Kathleen Klanchar, Calif., and Kristine Thomas, Oklahoma a brother, Robert Klanchar, Crivitz and three sisters, Audrey Sharf, Waukesha Marion Reidell, West Allis and Sharon Kumprey, New Berlin.

The family has suggested memorial be sent to the Cast for Cancer fishing tournament in care of Musky Bill s Tavern, Pewaukee, WI 53072.
