Tompkins, Edna (1916 - 1990)

Edna E. Tompkins, 73, Neillsville, died Aug. 1, 1990, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Neillsville. Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 3, 1990, at 10 a.m. at Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., Neillsville. Father Joseph N. Henseler officiated and burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Edna Lange was born Sept. 20, 1916, in the Town of Seif, to Frank and Meta (nee Dux) Lange. She received her education in Blackberry School in the Town of Seif. She married Darrel Tompkins Jan. 26, 1940, in Waukon, Iowa. He survives. After her marriage, she and her husband owned and operated Club 10. They ran the Neillsville Country Club from 1956 - 1958. In 1960 they purchased the Rooster Bar and operated it until 1972.

Survivors include her husband one son, Darrel Tompkins, Lakeville, Minn. one daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Patricia) Langreck, Neillsville and four grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
