Gallagher, William (1913 - 1990)
William Gallagher, 77, Neillsville, died at
his home Tuesday, July 31, 1990. Funeral services were held Friday,
Aug. 3, 1990, at 1 p.m. at Gesche Funeral Home, inc., Neillsville
Rev. Thomas LaChapelle officiated and burial was in the Neillsville
City Cemetery. Friends served as pallbearers.
William Gallagher was born March 17, 1913, in Neillsville, to David
and Emma (nee Ketel) Gallagher. He received his education in
Neillsville. He worked at May and Ruchabers Grocery store in
Neillsville until he entered the service. He served in World War
II. Upon returning he worked for Auto Test, Inc., in Neillsville.
He married Pauline Medicke Dec. 15, 1956, in Neillsville. She
survives. He then became the City Clerk and Treasurer and remained
in the position for 24 years, retiring from the city in 1984. He
was a member of the Neillsville Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Theodore
Kintzele, Neillsville, and Mrs. Virginia Bramble, Janesville.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one
sister.
Gesche Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
