Trimberger, Walter (1899 - 1990)
Walter A. Trimberger, 91, formerly of
Granton, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 1990, at 4:30 a.m. at Neillsville
Memorial Home.
Services were held Saturday, Aug. 4, at 11 a.m. at Zion Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Granton, with the Rev. Herbert L. Biermann
officiating. The body was cremated and burial was in the Granton
Cemetery.
Walter Trimberger was born march 1, 1899, in Granton, to John and
Emma (Fravert) Trimberger. In the 1920's he farmed and also raised
bees. During World War II, he sold farm machinery. He operated gas
stations at Trimberger Corner in Granton, in Chili and on the north
side of Marshfield. He retired 14 years ago and moved to
Neillsville, spending the last 14 winters in Mesa, Ariz. He had
been a resident of the nursing home for the past six years.
He was married to Gudrun Skar. She preceded him in death March 30,
1990.
Trimberger and his wife had been past Citizens of the Year in
Granton. He was a charter member of the rotary Club and a lifelong
member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he held various
offices.
Survivors include one son, Wayne of Willard one brother, Victor of
Albuquerque, N.M. six grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Eugene, in
1988 one infant daughter, Wilma and his parents.

Walter A. Trimberger Family
Mr. liramberger was born and lived on the Trimberger corner all his life until
August 30, 1968, when they moved to NeiLlsville. He established a gasoline
station and Implement business there, which he operated for 40 years. He married
Gudrun Skar of Birchwood, Wis., on June 18, 1924. She taught school for five
years and was last employed at Principal of the Romadka State Grade School..
They have two sons, Attorney Wayne W. Trimberger, and Eugene T. Trimberger,
State parole and probation officer of Clark County, both living in Neillsville.
They have five grandchildren. They continue their membership of Zion Lutheran
church at Granton.
