Teter, Gladys (1902 - 1990)
Gladys Teter, 87, died Monday, July 23, 1990,
at 1:35 p.m. at Neillsville Memorial Home, where she was a
resident. Funeral services were held Friday, July 27 at 11 a.m. at
Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, with Rev. Ron Stelzleni
officiating. Grandson served as pallbearers, and burial was in
Windfall Cemetery, Granton.
Lori Anding was vocalist, and Jeanette Steiner was accompanist.
Gladys (nee Bird) Teter was born Aug. 18, 1902, in Hampton, Iowa to
Calvin and Martha (Burns) Bird. She was educated in Hampton
schools. On Aug. 18, 1920, she and Harry M. Teter were married in
Waterloo, Iowa. She and her husband farmed in Michigan, Iowa and
Wisconsin. They had lived in the Neillsville area since 1949.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dell (Norma Jean) Braverner,
Greenwood two sons, Herschel of Loyal and Dale of Granton three
sisters, Mrs. Edward (Clara) Grap, Elgin, Ill., Mrs. Leo (Bernice
Grap, Grand Junction, Colo., and Mrs. Melvin (Roepke),
Carpentersville, Ill. 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and
one great-great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her husband in April 1982, one
daughter, six brothers and her parents.
Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, handled arrangements.
