Carpenter, Frank Herman (1915 - 1990)
Frank Herman Carpenter, 75, Colby, died
Tuesday, July 10, 1990, at 8:52 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital
Hospice Care Unit. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday,
July 13, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. Rev. Bruce Ball
officiated, and burial was in the parish cemetery. Serving as
pallbearers were Henry, Alphonse, and Leo Weix, Mike Kramer, Lyle
Kilty, and Leonard Riese.
Frank Carpenter was born May 13, 1915 in Fond du Lac to Frank and
Katherine (Pomerick) Carpenter. He received his education in
Abbotsford schools, and worked for General Telephone as an
installer and repairman for 31 years, retiring in 1979. He was very
active in horseshoe pitching and enjoyed bowling. He was a member
of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
On Oct. 1, 1946, he and Patricia Weix were married at St.
Mary's.
He is survived by his wife one son, Mark of Colby one brother,
Clarence of Abbotsford three sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Ione) Vandehey,
Marshfield Mrs. Arlyn (Catherine) Brunkhorst, Abbotsford and Mrs.
Myron (Marie) Kramer, Fond du Lac and three grandchildren.
Rux Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
