Kissinger, Ruth M. (1906 - 1990)
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth M. Kissinger, 84, Chili, who died
Tuesday, Aug. 14, 1990, in the emergency room of St. Joseph's
Hospital, Marshfield, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 1990,
at Christ Lutheran Church, Chili. Rev. Herbert Biermann officiated.
Mrs. Mildred faber was the organist for the congregational singing
and also sang a duet with Mrs. Helen Dix. Burial was in the Salem
Lutheran Church Cemetery, Veefkind. Pallbearers were grandsons,
George Krasselt III, Richard Krasselt, James Krasselt Jr., Jay
Krasselt, Jeff Krasselt, Scot Krasselt, Kendell Krasselt, Troy
Krasselt, Todd Krasselt and Cory Krasselt.
Ruth Vine was born May 6, 1906, in the town of Grant, to George and
Della (nee Waterman) Vine. She attended town of Grant schools and
was a 1923 Neillsville High School graduate. She attended County
Teaching Training School in 1924 and the University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire and UW-Stevens Point and received a special
education degree in 1963. She married George Krasselt March 12,
1926. He preceded her in death June 3, 1950. She was married to
Alvin Kissinger May 3, 1952. He preceded her in death Feb. 4,
1981.
Her teaching career began in 1924, when she taught all eight grades
at Grant School in the town of Fremont. She remained there until
1927. After she raised her five sons, she returned to grant School
in 1945 and remained there until 1950. She then taught at
Heathville School, near Loyal, until 1959, and then transferred to
the Mack School, also near Loyal. She then became involved in the
special education project established by Clark County in 1961. She
later taught special education at Grant Elementary School,
Marshfield, for six years before retiring in 1971. She was a
substitute teacher in special education there for several years
after retirement.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Chili, and a former
member of Salem Lutheran Church, Veefkind, and its Ladies Aid. She
was also a member of the Homemakers Club and Wisconsin Retired
Teachers Association.
She is survived by three sons, George Krasselt Jr., Roaring Branch,
Pa. James Krasselt Sr., Spencer and Dale Krasselt, Chili one
brother, Theamore Vine, Neillsville 18 grandchildren and 26
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sons,
Gary and Roger, three brothers and two great-grandchildren.
Hansen Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
