Marek, Charles (1899 - 1990)
Charles Marek, 90, Neillsville, did Monday,
Oct. 22, 1990, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 1990, at 2 p.m. at
United Methodist Church, Granton. Rev. Thomas LaChapelle officiated
and burial was in the town of Lynn Cemetery. Fiends served as
pallbearers.
Charles Marek was born Nov. 24, 1899, in Czechoslovakia, to Rudolph
and Marie (nee Maly) Marek. He came to the United States in 1914 to
New York. They settled in Chicago where he worked in a factory. On
May 24, 1935, he married Jennie Buzek. She preceded him in death
May 24, 1980. In August of 1981, he married Elma White. She
survives. He moved to the Granton area in 1956 when he semi retired
and continued pulping until 1975.
Survivors include his wife two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Eleanor)
Arneson, Neillsville and Mrs. August (Dorothy) Cook, Seattle, Wash.
five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, three
sisters and two brothers.
Gesche Funeral Home, inc., handled the arrangements.
