Hart, Gerald Aldin (1916 - 1990)


Gerald Aldin (Butch) Hart, 74, Neillsville, died Friday, Nov. 23, 1990, at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Neillsville. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 26, 1990, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Neillsville.


Father Joseph N. Henseler officiated and burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bob Barth, Steve Mabie, Terry Marty, Bob Reil, Gary Nauertz and Tom Nauertz.


Gerald Aldin Hart was born March 2, 1916, in Humbird, to Roy and Erma (nee Dignin) Hart. He received his education in Humbird. After school he began to work as a butcher in his father's store in Humbird (Hart's Grocery). He married Lillian Gangler Sept. 11, 1935, in Neillsville. She survives. He worked at The Farmer's Store, Mathy Construction, and was a custodian at St. Mary's 12 years ago. He owned and operated Southside Grocery from 1941 - 1944. He was in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 73.


Survivors include his wife one son, Thomas G. Hart, Springfield, Ore. two daughters, Dorothy Burr, and Mrs. Harry (Elaine) Bedell, both of Neillsville two brothers, Lloyd Hart, Morristown, Minn., and Vern Hart, Northfield, Minn. 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his parents.


Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., handled the arrangements.
