Wiechers, Gunther J. (1935 - 1990)
Gunther Wiechers, 54, Loyal, died Tuesday,
May 22, 1990, at his home, after suffering an apparent heart
attack. Funeral services were held Friday, May 25, 1990, at Maurina
Funeral Home in Owen. Rev. Paul Petersen officiated. Burial was in
the Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Serving as pallbearers were Dick
Mengel, Kenneth Mengel, Chuck Mengel, Lloyd Clarkson, Jeff
Pernsteiner and Jesse Pernsteiner.
Gunther John Wiechers was born Aug. 23, 1935, in Helzberg, Germany,
to Johann and Elizabeth Wiechers. He came to the United States in
1952 and had lived in Rice Lake for three years before moving to
Owen. He married Sandra Mengel Feb. 4, 1960, in Owen. He was
employed at Hurd Millwork in Medford until 1978, when they moved to
Loyal.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra his mother, Elizabeth Wiechers,
Frankfort, Germany three daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Dawn) Pernsteiner,
Loyal Mrs. Jeff (Alice) Pernsteiner, Loyal Jennifer Wiechers, Loyal
two sons, Henry and Mark, both of Loyal one brother one sister and
five grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his father.
Maurina Funeral Home, Owen handled the arrangements.
