Zilisch, Jessie (1888 - 1989)
Jessie Zilisch, 101, Menomonie, former
resident of the Neillsville area, died Dec. 24, 1989, at American
Lutheran Home, Inc., Menomonie. Private family services were held
in Menomonie. Rev. Thomas LaChapelle officiated. Burial was in the
Neillsville City Cemetery.
Jessie (Ormond) Zilisch was born to William and Mathilda Ormond in
Horicon on June 27, 1888. She received her education in Horicon
schools. She attended college in Milwaukee. She then taught school
in the Milwaukee area until her marriage in 1917. She married
Martin H. Zilisch on June 23, 1917, in Horicon. He died May 27,
1970. After their marriage they moved to Neillsville, where they
farmed until the late 1950's. After her husband's death she moved
to Menomonie. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star,
Neillsville.
Surviving her are one son, Martin, Chaska, Minn. one daughter, Mrs.
June Badeh, Menomonie three sisters, Esther Welsh, Waunakee Eva
Vale, Cottage Grove Mary Elmer, Sunny Vale, Calif. 12 grandchildren
11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Husband and one
brother.
Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., handled the arrangements.
