ERNA LEMKE


Erna Lemke, 83, formerly of the Globe, Clark County area, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 1978 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.


Services were conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 31 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe. Rev. Ralph Stuebs officiated and the congregation sang, accompanied by Mrs. Henry Thoma on the organ. Interment was in the Globe Cemetery.


Erna Lemke was born to Gustau and Ana (Hemp) Grap at Globe on Feb. 22, 1895, and received her education at Globe School.
She was married to Robert Lemke on May 4, 1927 at Milwaukee.


After their marriage they lived in Milwaukee for about 30 years, moving to Greenwood in 1966. She has been residing at the Thorp Care Center for the last year.


She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.


Survivors include two brothers, Delbert Grap of Connersville, Indiana and Sam Grap of Greenwood and two sister, Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Reindel of Scottsdale, Ariz. And Mrs. Peter (Viola) Chopp of Mundelien, Ill.


She was predeceased by her husband , five brothers and one sister.


Serving as pallbearers were Bill Hoffman, William Adams, Clarence Wegner, Fred Grap, Jr., Herman Hagedorn and Gerhart Scheel. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.
