Bowe, Benedict (1913 - 1990)


Benedict (Ben) Bowe, 76, Route 1, Loyal, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 1990, at 6 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospice Unit, Marshfield. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 13, 1990, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. Father Chester Osowski officiated. Burial was in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Meyer, James Elsinger, Roger Wehe, Jack Nelson, David La Barge and Raymond Milz.


Benedict Bowe was born April 244, 1913, in Chippewa Falls to Albert and Eleanore (Loew) Bowe. He received his education in Chippewa schools. He married Mildred Jagim on Oct. 21, 1950, in Spokane, Wash. He moved his family to Loyal in 1959 and farmed in the town of Beaver until his retirement in 1978. He was a charter and honorary member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He served as past chairman of the town of Beaver and helped organize and served as past chairman of the Unified Loyal Fire Department.


Survivors include his wife, Mildred six sons, Donald, Hawthorne Woods, Ill. Larry, Loyal Neil, Waunakee John, Loyal Raymond, Loyal Leroy, Loyal six brothers, Edward, Greenwood Arnold, Eau Claire Eugene, Eau Claire Herbert, Cadott Ralph, Chippewa Falls Duane, Chippewa Falls one sister, Mrs. Leona Pederson, Eau Claire and 10 grandchildren.


Preceding him in death were his parents and three sister, Gloria, Melvina and Marie.


Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled the arrangements.
