Wetzel, Meta M. (1906 - 1990)

Meta M. Wetzel, 83, Neillsville, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 1990, at 5:33 p.m. at Neillsville Memorial Home, Neillsville. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1990, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Neillsville. Rev. Richard F. Weber officiated. Burial was in Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eddie Tresmer, James Schroch, John Walk, Ronald Meihack, Tim Tresmer and Herb Nemitz.

Meta (Reetz) Wetzel was born Nov. 25, 1906, in Adlick Suchow, Germany to Frank and Matilda Reetz. She received her education in Germany. She came to the United States in Aug. 1925. She settled in Neillsville and lived there her entire life. She married Emil W. Wetzel on Oct. 17, 1930, in Winona, Minn. He died Jan. 11, 1973. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Neillsville.

Survivors include two sons, Walter, Neillsville Raymond, Neillsville three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Roehl, Neillsville Mrs. Kenneth (Karen) Mohr, Neillsville Mrs. Leo (Florence) Wiesner, Neillsville 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, three sisters, one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., Neillsville, handled the arrangements.
