Shefchik, Leo (1926 - 1990)
Leo Shefchik, 63, Marshfield, died Sunday,
Jan. 14, 1990, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral
services were held Thursday, Jan. 18, 1990, at Corpus Christie
Catholic Church, Bakerville. Rev. Charles P. Schumacher officiated.
Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Bernie
Crackley, Richard Shefchik, Michael Collins, Donald Bauer, Glen
Bloom and Thomas Beyerl.
Leo Shefchik was born Aug. 4, 1926, in the town of Beaver, to
Joseph and Emma (Slaby) Shefchik. He was a 1944 graduate of Loyal
High School. He married Marie A. Nenahlo, May 12, 1954, at St.
Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. He farmed in the town of Beaver
until 1960. He then moved to the town of Lincoln in Wood County. He
was employed at Clover Cream Dairy as an evaporator operator. He
retired in 1973 due to ill health. He was a member of Corpus
Christi Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife seven sons, Mark, Wisconsin Rapids
Scott, Woodstock, Ill. Brian, Menomonie Kurt, Tommy, Robin and
Jeff, all at home three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Nick) Wayerski,
Colleen Shefchik and Mrs. Lyle (Nancy) Lang, all of Marshfield one
sister, Mrs. Peter (Evelyn) Beyerl, Colby one brother, Francis,
Rhinelander and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
