Sternitzky, Oscar (1914 - 1990)
Oscar Sternitzky, 75, Granton, died Sunday,
Feb. 18, 1990, at St. Joseph's Hospice Care Unit, Marshfield.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1990, at Zion Lutheran
Church, Granton. Rev. Herbert L. Biermann officiated. Burial was in
Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Granton. Grandsons served as
pallbearers.
Oscar Sternitzky was born April 29, 1914, in the town of Lynn,
Clark County, to Oscar and Frilla (Lewis) Sternitzky. He received
his education at the Poplar Grade School. After school he worked on
the farm with his father. He married Gladys Porath on Sept. 12,
1943, in Granton. From 1952 through 1977, he worked as a livestock
buyer and continued to farm on the family farm until his retirement
in 1985. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Granton.
Surviving him are his wife, two sons, Allen, Marshfield Harlin,
Granton three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Elaine) Duerr, Marshfield
Mrs. LeRoy (Evelyn) Binder, Marshfield Mrs. Ronald (Janice)
Schiller, Granton three sisters, Mrs. Vera Wesenberg, Granton Mrs.
Violet Rogers, Marshfield Mrs. Verna Hahn, Marshfield 12
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister.
Gesche Funeral Home, Inc. handled the arrangements.
