Carl, Irene (1901 - 1990)

Irene Ida Carl, 88, Greenwood, died Sunday, March 4, 1990, at Manawa Community Nursing Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6, 1990, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenwood. Rev. Tom Garrison officiated. Burial was in Neillsville Cemetery.
Irene (Wieting) Carl was born June 12, 1901, in Pine Valley to John and Anna Wieting. She received her education in the town of Pine Valley. She lived with her parents in Neillsville and worked at the Neillsville Bakery until her marriage. She married Irvin Carl, Jan. 18, 1922. In 1937 they moved to Greenwood, where her husband operated a blacksmith shop. She was employed as a nurse aid at Neillsville Memorial Hospital for 21 years.

Survivors include three sons, Robert, Greenwood Duwayne, Manawa Harlan, Appleton one daughter, Mrs. R.B. (Marjorie) Fahlm, Grosse Point, Mich. 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, brothers and sister.

Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
