Williams, Margaret (1895 - 1990)
Margaret William, 94, Loughboro Community,
Glendive, Mont. died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 1990, in her home. Funeral
services were held March 6, 1990, in Glendive, Mont., at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church. Father Robert Grosch officiated. Burial was
in Dawson County Cemetery, Glendive. Pallbearers were Ray Temple,
Glenn Hutchinson, Jack Wenberg, Tom O'Dea, Marty O'Dea and Paul
O'Dea.
Margaret (Cronin) William was born March 18, 1895, in Wabasha,
Minn., to Patrick and Anna (Hillman) Cronin. She was raised and
educated in Greenwood. She graduated from Greenwood High School in
1914. In 1918 she moved to Terry, Mont. She taught school at the
Cherry Creek School from 1918 to 1919. She also taught rural school
in the Poverty Flats area, Three Mile area and Bloomfield area. On
May 26, 1921, she married Owen William in Wilbaux, Mont. After
their marriage, they farmed and ranched in the Loughboro
area. She also did substitute teaching for many years. She
had been a member of the Belle Prairie Homemakers Club. She lived
wild flowers and nature, and identified more than 100 different
wildflowers in the Loughboro community. She had seved as a
reporter for the Dawson County Review, in Loughboro from 1929 to
1981.
Surviving are her husband two daughters, Eleanor Williams,
Glendive, Mont. Mrs. Paul (Lois) O'Dea, Miles City, Mont. three
sons, James, Glendive, Mont. Patrick, Dickinson, N.D. Michael,
Logan, Mont. two sisters, Dolly Zickert, Greenwood Mrs. Phillip
(Anna) Vollrath, Greenwood 15 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
