Konieczny, Frank G. (1879 - 1978)


Frank G. Konieczny, 98, died Tuesday at Thorp Care Center.


Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 5th, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lublin, the Rev. Stephen Krawiec officiating. Burial was in Lublin.


Mr. Konieczny was born Nov. 24, 1879 in Pozman, Poland, and came to the United States in 1886. He married Sophia Haider Sept. 30, 1914 in Minneapolis. They moved to Thorp, Clark County in 1919.


He served on the board of directors for Lombard Dairy and the Pineland School Board. He was a farmer, retiring in 1949.


Surviving are four sons, Tom of Menasha, Frank of Thorp, Stanley of Withee, and George of Marshfield two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Margaret) Rohland and Mrs. Otto (Agnes) Rohland, both of Withee, one sister, Mrs. Sophie Thorpe, Minneapolis 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife in 1956, two brothers, five sisters, one son and one grandson.


Pallbearers were Dennis Rohland, Roger Konieczny, Jerrold Rohland, and Leon, Ronald and David Konieczny.
