Karnopp, Wilbert (1926 - 1991)
Wilbert Karnopp, 64, a Unity native, died
Sunday, May 5, 1991, at Luther Hospital, Menomonie. Funeral
services were held Wednesday, May 8, 1991, at Trinity Lutheran
Church, Menasha. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Appleton.
Wilbert Karnopp was born July 20, 1926, in Unity, to Louis and Emma
Karnopp. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S.
Navy on the USS Drake. He had been a resident of Menasha for 26
years and then moved to Wild Rose. He was a member of the Lutheran
Church, Wild Rose. He was also a member of the Sheet Metal
Apprentice Board of the Fox Valley area for more than 10 years. At
the time of his death, he was the business manager for Fox River
Valley Area Building Trades and also served the Fond du Lac and
Oshkosh areas. He served on the Fox Valley Technical College Board
for the Appleton and Oshkosh area and was an alternate trustee for
the Sheet Metal Health and Welfare Board of the Fox Valley. He was
very active with the AFL-CIO at the state level and was business
manager of the old Local Sheet Metal No. 33. He was also a business
agent for the Roofers of the Fox Valley.
Survivors include his wife, Pricilla (Landskron) Karnopp four
daughters, Mrs. Louis (Cheryl) Casamassa, Carl Krause, Mrs. Ray
(Cathie) Racette, and Mrs. Ron (Brenda) Gresl, all of Appleton one
son, Bruce Karnopp, Neenah four sisters, Mrs. Elda Neumann, Spencer
Mrs. Linda Delo, Milwaukee Mrs. Alice Raatz, Colby and Mrs. Esther
Pachal, Loyal six grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother,
Clarence.
