Scharf, Ilene L. (1925 - 1991)

Ilene L. Scharf, 65, Neillsville, died Sunday, March 17, 1991, at St. Joseph's Hospice Care Unit, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 1991, at Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton. Rev. Allen Saugstad officiated and burial was in Zion American Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends served as pallbearers.

Ilene Schnabel was born July 28, 1925, in the town of Grant, Clark County, to Alfred and Lena (nee Lipke) Schnabel. She received her education at Reed School in the Neillsville area. On June 23, 1946, she married Alvin Scharf in the town of Grant, Clark County. He preceded her in death in June 1970. She worked for the Neillsville School District as a custodian for 13 years and retired in 1990. She was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda McAley, Greenwood; one son, Ronald Scharf, Neillsville; five brothers, Harold Schnabel, Warner, S. D.; Verlyn Schnabel, Marshfield; and Leon Schnabel, Delber Schnabel, and Herbert Schnabel, all of Neillsville; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one daughter, two sisters, two brothers, and one granddaughter.
