Zipfel, Emma (1896 - 1991)
Emma Zipfel, 94, Neillsville, died Wednesday,
April 24, 1991, at Neillsville Memorial Home, Neillsville. Funeral
services were held Saturday, April 27, 1991, at 11 a.m. at St.
John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville. Rev. Richard Weber
officiated and burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Family
and friends served as pallbearers.
Emma Hillert was born Nov. 10, 1896, in the town of Grant, Clark
County, to David and Wilhelmine (nee Krumheuer) Hillert. She
received her education in the town of Grant at the Zion American
Lutheran Church School. After school, she worked for the Humphill's
in Neillsville as a housekeeper for about seven years. She married
Frederic Zipfel Sept. 16, 1925, in the town of Grant. After her
marriage, she and her husband farmed in the town of Grant. He
preceded her in death in Aug. 1945. She entered the Neillsville
Memorial Home in 1988. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Neillsville.
Survivors include one son, Raymond Zipfel, Neillsville one
daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth) Maxson, Bay City, Mich. seven
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother
and two sisters.
Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., handled the arrangements.
