Shefchik, Francis Joseph (1923 - 1991)
Francis Joseph Shefchik, 67, Rhinelander,
died Sunday, May 26, 1991, at St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral services
were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 1991, at St. Mary's
Catholic Church, with Rev. James Jackson officiating. Burial was in
St. Mary's Cemetery.
Francis Joseph Shefchik was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Loyal, to Joseph
and Emma (nee Slaby) Shefchik. He married Lillian Bannach in June
1948. He was employed as a bookkeeper at Loyal Canning Co. for a
number of years and the Cadillac-Olds dealer in Marshfield for five
years. They moved to Rhinelander in 1959, where he was employed at
Wenlen Motor Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1987. He was a 4th
degree Knight and former Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus
Council 2032. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was
active in the Belles of St. Mary's.
Survivors include his wife three sons, Joseph Shefchik, Orlando,
Fla. Fran Shefchik and Jerry Shefchik, both of Rhinelander two
daughters, Mrs. Allan (Marilyn) O'Malley, Rhinelander and Mrs. Ted
(Terry) Gallenberger, Milwaukee one sister, Mrs. Peter (Evelyn)
Beyerl, Colby and 13 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one
sister.
