Durst, Alma E. (1894 - 1991)

Alma E. Durst, 96, Neillsville, died Saturday, June 8, 1991, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 12, 1991, at 11 a.m. at Pine Valley Lutheran Church, Neillsville. Rev. Allen Saugstad officiated and burial was in the North Pine Valley Cemetery, town of Pine Valley. Family served as pallbearers.

Alma E. Karnitz was born Oct. 5, 1894, in the town of Pine Valley, Clark County, to Fred and Mary (nee Huhn) Karnitz. She married Walter J. Durst June 17, 1920, in the town of Pine Valley. He preceded her in death July 5, 1986. She was a member of Pine Valley Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sons, LaVern (Marie) Durst, Palmdale, Calif. Lewis (Nell) Durst, Scottsdale, Ariz. one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie (Dr. Fred) Blix, Zionsville, Ind. eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers and one sister.

Gesche Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Pine Valley Lutheran Church.
