Zielinski, Joseph W. (1911 - 2001)
Joseph W. Zielinski, 89, Owen, died on
Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at the Victory Medical Center, Stanley.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 25, at Holy
Rosary Catholic Church, Owen. The Rev. Al Jakubowski officiated.
Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Joseph William Zielinski was born on Oct. 16, 1911, in Chicago,
Ill., to John and Emilia (nee Nagorski) Zielinski. As a young
child, he moved with his family to farm in the Lublin area. He
married Ella Stone in 1943, in Chicago, Ill. She died on Aug. 28,
1986. He married Irene Kubat Bladl on Jan. 23, 1993, at Holy Rosary
Parish, Owen. He was a self-employed carpenter and was recognized
for his beautifully handcrafted furniture and cabinets. He was
employed at the Clark County Health Care Center for more than 20
years as a nursing assistant. He enjoyed playing the concertina and
entertaining his family, playing at church functions, and for the
resident of the Clark County Health Care Center. He was an active
member of the Owen Senior Citizens Club, where he served as
treasurer. He suffered from macular degeneration causing blindness.
He was a member of Holy Rosary catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Zielinski, Owen one son, Ronald
(Sara) Zielinski, Elkhart Lake two granddaughters, Robin and Ami
Zielinski one step-son, Paul (Nancy) Bladl, Louisville, Texas one
step-daughter, Patricia Koplitz, Owen 11 step-grandchildren 17
step-great-grandchildren three brothers, Steve (Joyce) Zielinski,
Withee, Stanley Zielinski, King, and Leon (Ethel) Zielinski,
Florida and nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents his first wife, Ella
Zielinski and three brothers, Edmund, Frank and Walter
Zielinski.
Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, assisted the family with
arrangements.
