Lokken, Pearl R. (1903 - 2001)


Pearl R. Lokken, 97, Abbotsford, died on Friday, Dec. 15, 200, at the Continental Manor Nursing Home, Abbotsford, where she had resided since Aug. 1999. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 18, at the Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford. The Rev. Lauren Ley and the Rev. Roger Tellock officiated. Interment was in St. Paul's Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery, Curtiss.


Pearl Rose Knight was born on May 14, 1903, in Owen, to Allan and Helga (nee Botterud) Knight. She married John Lokken on June 1, 1925, in Owen. She was employed by the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, from 1948 to 1982 as a cook. She also was the special cook for the then administrator, Calvin Mills and family, and then for his son, Arlyn Mills and family. She also prepared meals for the Clark County Board and Trustees. She was a member of the Eastern Star and St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Curtiss, and the ladies circle.


Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Yvonne, Lokken, Bloomington, Minn. one sister, Beatrice Thorson, Annandale, Minn. and other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lokken, on May 19, 1975 her son, Arthur Lokken, on May 5, 1992 brothers, Chester Knight, Clarence Knight, and twin brother, Earl Ray Knight and three sisters, Selman Ecke, Hazel Veskie Pitties, and Irene Kivikko.


Maurina funeral Home, Abbotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.
