Newman, Doloris J. (1940 - 2001)
Doloris J. Newman, 60, Loyal, formerly of
Owen, died on Monday, May 7, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital
Palliative Care Unit, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11
a.m., on Thursday, May 10, at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. The
Rev. Daniel Zimmerman, Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, officiated.
Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Pallbearers were
Robert Mengel, James Newman, Wayne Mullikin, Joel Hales, Jessie
Morrison, and Shaun Morrison.
Doloris June Mengel was born on June 7, 1940, in Owen, to Rudolph
and Agnes (nee Anderson) Mengel. She attended the Delaven School
for the Hearing Impaired, where she learned her academic skills.
She married Ray Newman on April 9, 1960, in Withee. They later
divorced. She was a homemaker, and was employed at the Cozy Corner
Cafe, Owen, and later the Lunch Box, Withee. She enjoyed
crocheting, crafts, birds, and especially her family and friends.
She resided in Loyal for the past three years.
Survivors include one son, James (Jeanette) Newman, Wis. Rapids
five daughters, Mary (Cindy Buske) Newman, Loyal, Sarah (fianc
Kevin Winkler) Morrison, Granton, Tammy (Joel Hales) Newman,
Granton, Lynn (Wayne) Mullikin, Granton, and Kim Newman,
Neillsville two brothers, Robert (Sheryl) Mengel, Withee, and
Kenneth (Pat) Mengel, Withee two sisters, Lois (Lloyd) Clarkson,
Dorchester, and Sandra Wiechers, Greenwood nine grandchildren,
Tina, Renee, Jessie, Shaun, Meghan, Tiffany, Molly, Paige, and
Samantha and one great-granddaughter, Abigail.
She was preceded in death by her parents one brother, Richard
Mengel one granddaughter, Trace Mohr and one brother-in-law,
Gunther Wiechers.
Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, assisted the family with
arrangements.
