Jensen, Elsie T. (1918 - 2001)


Elsie, T. Jensen, 83, Granton, Clark County, died on Sunday, June 3, 2001, at the Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, June 6, at the United Methodist Church, Granton. The Rev. Craig Conklin and the Rev. Joe Everett officiated. Interment was in the Windfall Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fritz Garbisch, Ronnie Garbisch, David Hillert, Darrol Lohrman, and Rick Steponik.


Elsie Thelma Stevenson was born on Jan. 17, 1918, in Delphi, Ind., to Lawrence and Etta (nee Trawin) Stevenson. When she was a young girl, her family moved to Augusta, Canada, and then came to Granton. She attended grade school in Augusta and graduated from Granton High School. After her schooling, she farmed with her parents on the family farm. She married Clarence Jensen on Nov. 26, 1949, in Granton. After their marriage, they farmed her parents farm. She continued living and farming on the family farm even after her husband s death in 1989. She attended the United Methodist Church, Granton, and was a member of the town of Grant Busy Bee Homemakers Club. She enjoyed cooking and was an excellent bread maker.


She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clarence Jensen.


The Gesche/Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, assisted the family with arrangements.
