Neff, Samuel (1850 - 1926)
The late Samuel Neff was born in the town of West Menasha,
Winnebago County, Wis., April 7th, 1850 and died Feb. 8th,
1926.
He was the eldest child of Martha Ann Miller of Pittsfield, N.Y.
and Samuel Neff of Burlington Green, N.Y.
During his time in Menasha he joined the Congregational Church. Mr.
Neff was a farmer, he also held the office of Town Treasurer, for
many years, in the town of West Menasha.
Eighteen years ago he moved to the town of Longwood, Clark County
and the last five years has made his home with Mrs. Charles
McNitt.
He was a highly respected citizen and leaves to mourn his loss
three brothers, John of the town of Longwood, Gilbert of Neenah and
Myron of Suke, Western Canada and one sister, Mrs. George Smith of
Fond du Lac, Wis.
Funeral service was held at the home of Mrs. Charles McNitt, Feb.
11th, the Rev. W. P. Powell officiating, with interment at
Riverside Cemetery.
