Schroeder, Julius (1893 - 1978)
 

Julius Schroeder, 85, a former Spokeville, Clark County resident, who has been residing for the past six years at the Home of the Aged at Greenwood, died Sunday morning, Nov. 19, 1978 at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Rev. Bruno Schlachtenhaufen will officiate. The congregation will sing What a Friend We Have In Jesus and Old Rugged Cross.

Burial will be in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, is in charge of arrangements.

The body will lay in state at Rinka Funeral Home after 3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21 and after 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22 at the church.
Julius Schroeder was born to Albert and Hannah (Preiebe) Schroeder on Sept. 4, 1893 in Dodge County. He received his education at rural school in the Town of Sherman.
He came to Spokeville in 1900 with his parents. He was married on Oct. 24, 1923 at Salem Lutheran Church at Veefkind to Anita Lewis.
They farmed in the Town of Sherman all their married life.

He was a committee man for the Clark County Progressive Party for several years and was a Framer s Union member, where he held several offices. He was a member of the Veefkind Lutheran Church until it lcosed, then joined Loyal Trinity Lutheran Church.

He was a member of the Loyal American Legion Post and was a World War I veteran, serving in 1917.

Surviving him are two brothers, Roy of Loyal and Bert of Oiville, Cal. three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Mellenthin of Colonial Home, Colby, Miss Freda Schroeder of Neillsville and Mrs. Walter (Linda) Krahn of Loyal.

Full Military rites will be conducted by the Loyal american Legion Post. Pallbearers will be Eugene Jensen, Henry Kurz, Paul Haslow, Norbert Fellenz, Milton Renheimer and Leroy Collinson.
