Cramblit, Bertha J. (1873 - 1926)
Bertha J. Cramblit, wife of William Cramblit, died at her home in
this city (Owen, Clark County) late Saturday afternoon, June 26,
1926 after a lingering illness, the cause of death being cancer.
She was fifty-one years of age and had been a resident of the city
for more than twelve years. Several weeks ago she returned home
from the hospital at Chippewa Falls, where she had been for some
time seeking some relief from her ailments, but all proved to be of
no use.
Besides her husband she leaves to mourn, three sons and two
daughters, all of whom were here to attend the funeral.
Funeral services were held from the home Wednesday afternoon, at
one thirty o'clock, Rev. Sigglekow of Withee officiating, after
which the Ku Klux Klan took charge of the body and held their
services, burial taking place in Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Cramblit was a patient sufferer, and those who knew her spoke
only in the highest manner. Many Klan members from Greenwood and
Loyal were present at the funeral to pay their last sad rites.
