Carpenter, Mertia J. (1867 - 1873)

Died in Greenwood, Clark County, March 26, 1873, Mertia J., daughter of C. W. and Sarah E. Carpenter, aged 6 years, 2 months and 26 days.

Funeral services were held in this village on Friday afternoon, the 28 of March. The parents formerly resided here, and have three children buried in our village cemetery. Little Mertia is now laid beside them. In full assurance of the Christian faith, the chastened parents number their household treasures none the less, only the angels have taken one more to their company in the better land.
