Severson, Benhart (1893 - 1980)
Benhart Severson, 87, of 110 North Crocker
Av., Greenwood, Clark County, died at 4:40 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18,
1980, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 21 at
Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood. Rev. Sam Kochel will
officiate and burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood after 3
p.m. Wednesday and at the church after 9:30 on Thursday
morning.
Benhart Severson was born to Sever and Rachel (Peterson) Severson
at Blanchardville on Jan. 10, 1893 and received his education at
Blanchardville School.
He was married to Helen Moe on Dec. 9, 1920 in Blanchardville. They
celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1970.
He farmed at Blanchardville and then moved to Greenwood and farmed
for two years. He then worked for Mauer's Construction in
Marshfield for eight years and for Stewart's Cheese Factory until
1958 when he retired.
He was a World War I veteran and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran
Church.
Surviving him are his wife, Helen one son, Bernard of Spencer five
daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Rosella) Dergance of Willard, Mrs. Irene
Bomback of Willard, Mrs. Ruth Stroud of Milwaukee, Mrs. Duane
(Dorothy) Miller of Marshfield and Mrs. Shirley Blaskowski of Green
Bay two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Peterson of New Glarus, Wis. and Mrs.
Chris (Ella) Wahl of Blanchardville 19 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were one son and one daughter.
Robert Blaskowski, Edward D. Bomback, Dennis Trunkel, Duane
Trunkel, James Miller and Gary Bomback will serve as
pallbearers.
Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, is in charge of arrangements.
