Lemke, Henry (1899 - 1980)


Henry Lemke, 80, of 307 West Central, Loyal, Clark County, died at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville at 10:45 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 1980.


Services were conducted on Wednesday, March 26 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal Rev. Joseph R. Kraly officiated and interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of arrangements.


Henry Lemke was born on July 31, 1899 in the Town of Sherman to John and Louise (Grauman) Lemke and received his education at rural Catlin School.


He married Martha Konshok at Loyal on April 5, 1920.


After their marriage, they farmed in the Town of Sherman until 1946, when they bought another farm in the Town of Sherman and farmed until 1972. They moved to Loyal in 1976.


He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.


He is survived by his wife, Martha one son, Harold of Marshfield one sister, Mrs. William (Martha) Wehrman of Loyal eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


He was predeceased by one son, Norman two brothers and one sister.


Donald Bugar, Hugh Darton, Vern Dahlby, Walter Seegar, John Olson and Wilfred Wehrman served as pallbearers.
