White, Herbert (1889 - 1980)
Herbert Herb White, 90, formerly of Loyal, Clark County, who had
been residing at Neillsville Memorial Home since 1970 died
Thursday, April 24, 1980 at about 11:15 a.m. at Neillsville
Memorial Home.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 26 at
the United Methodist Church, Loyal. Officiating was Rev. Charles
Sanford and soloist was Mrs. Terrie Nikolai, accompanied by Mrs.
Ruth Zepplin on the organ. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.
Herb White was born on Nov. 16, 1899 in the Town of York and
received his education at Town of Loyal School and Loyal High
School.
He married Marian Albright on Nov. 10, 1912, at Loyal. She died in
1956. On April 5, 1958, he was married to Elma Hamann at Loyal.
He farmed all his life in the Town of Loyal, retiring in 1948, when
he moved to Loyal. He then worked part time for the Loyal
Bakery.
He was a member of the Loyal Cemetery Association, Secretary of
Modern Woodmen Insurance Co., a member of the Loyal Masonic Lodge
and a member of the Methodist Church and its Men s Club.
An 8 p.m. Masonic Service was held on April 25.
Surviving him are his wife, Elma of Neillsville one son, George of
Marshfield four daughters, Mrs. Andruse (Arlene) Cathey of Rio Del,
Calif., Mrs. Eunita Schiro of Spencer, Mrs. Richard (Elna) Sutter
of Sacramento, Calif. And Mrs. Harold (Jamee) Herdrich of Stockton,
Calif. two sisters, Mrs. Alice Swieso of Beloit and Mrs. Effie
Swieso of Thorp 15 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren one
step-daughter, Mrs. Harold (Ethel) Lindekugel of Neillsville one
step-son, Elwin Hamann of Marshfield.
He was preceded in death by four brothers one sister and one son in
infancy.
Serving as pallbearers were Jesse Raab, Neil Johnston, Spence
Graves, Heinz Stark, Philip White and Kerry Schiro. Rinka Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements.
