Colby, Raymond Jackman (1917 - 1980)
Raymond Jackman (Jack) Colby, 63, of New Orleans, La. died on
Friday, March 28, 1980 at 12:50 a.m., following complication from
by-pass surgery that led to amputation of both his legs in
1978.
Jack Colby was a native of Loyal, Clark County, and a resident of
New Orleans for the past 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Minerva, New Orleans his daughters,
Janice Zimmer of Greenwood and Mrs. Joan Gilles of Amherst his
first wife, Marge Colby of Greenwood two sisters, Mrs. Mary Essex,
Mrs. Gail Hopkins and two brothers, Eugene W. Colby and Keith
Colby. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two grandsons, Brian Gilles and Michael
Zimmer.
A requiem mass was celebrated in the Chapel of Jacot Schoen and
Son, New Orleans, La. on Saturday, March 29. Graveside services
were held Sunday, March 30 in Providence Cemetery, Nettleton,
Miss.
