Walters, Daniel D. (1972 - 1980)


Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 9 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville for Daniel D. Walters, 7, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Eugene Walters, Jr., Route 1, Granton, Clark County. The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery.


A Rosary Service was said Friday evening, Aug. 8, at 8 p.m.


Dainel suffered internal injuries when a farm wagon passed over him as he attempted to pull it from a shed on the farm of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Walters, Sr., in the Town of York. The accident occurred at about 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 6. He was taken to Memorial Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He died at 2:05 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, 1980, at the hospital.


Daniel was born Aug. 21, 1972, at Marshfield. He would have begun the second grade this fall at Neillsville Public Schools.


In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Sandra, and four brothers, James, Mark, Robert and timothy, all at home his paternal grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. Eugene (Mildred) Walters, Sr., Neillsville his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Erland (Irene) Dahl, Granton his great-grandmother, Mrs. Adeline Keuer, Neillsville and great-grandmother, Mrs. Freida Dahl, Chili.


Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, was in charge of arrangements.
