ALVIN KLINKE
 

Alvin Klinke, 67, Greenwood, Clark County, died Monday, March 29, 1993, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 1993, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. Rev. Steven Baures will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Full military rites will be performed by the Greenwood American Legion.


Pallbearers will be Dick Syth, Walt Simboli, Ken Speich, Laurence Lindner, Carl Gerald, and Ray Gahan.


Visitations will be held Wednesday, March 31 from 4-9 p.m. at Rinka Funeral Home. A rosary will be at 8 p.m.


Alvin Klinke was born Aug. 28, 1925, to Edward and Olive (nee Keller) Klinke. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Greade School and graduated from Greenwood High School. Following his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps he served as a radio gunner on a B-25 bomber. During WWII he was stationed in the South Pacific. He married Florence Bayuk Sept. 24, 1947, in Willard. She survives. He worked at Wuethrich Creamery as a truck driver, and later at Northside Elevator as a salesman for 10 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Greenwood American Legion.


Survivors include his wife 11 children, Mrs. Richard (Dolores) Hastreiter, Hudson Edward, Neillsville Patricia, Madison Kathy Keckler, Kenosha Robert, Greenwood Michael, Greenwood Mrs. Jeff (Joan) Hoeper, Greenwood Mrs. Tom (Mary Lou) Behrens, Willard Mrs. Greg (Sandy) Herrick, Willard Ronald, Rock Dam and Mrs. Craig (Peggy) Smith, Port Washington 19 grandchildren seven sisters, Mrs. Charles (Loraine) Adams, Eaton, Ohio Mrs. Howard (Lucille) Bantz, New Lisbon Mrs. Gene (Jean) Wolstenholme, South Hampton, Penn. Mrs. James (Karen) Berrett, Marblehead, Mass. Mrs. Joseph (Rita) Plat, N. Whales, Penn. Mrs. Ronald (Kay) O'Brien, Marshfield and Alberta Klinke, Marshfield and one brother, Ralph Klinke, Spring Grove, Ill.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two infant brothers, and one infant sister.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given.


Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
