Newman, Hilda (1894 - 1980)
Mrs. Hilda Newman, 86, of 309 W. Mill St., Loyal, Clark County,
died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 4, 1980, at Memorial Hospital in
Neillsville.
The funeral was conducted at the United Methodist Church, Loyal, by
Rev. Charles Sanford at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 7. Mrs. Ruth Zepplin
was the organist and Mrs. Connie Meyer the soloist. Pallbearers
were Edward Miller, Byron Zepplin, Wally Szymanski, Jesse Raab,
Erick Axelson and Donald Cole. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in
charge of arrangements.
Hilda Nelson was born on Feb. 8, 1894, at Whitehall and received
her education at rural Whitehall Schools.
She married Elmer Newman at Whitehall on July 30, 1921.
After their marriage, they moved to Loyal and lived her since. Her
husband was the former Loyal Police Chief.
She was a member of Royal Neighbors and a charter member of the
Legion auxiliary.
Mrs. Newman is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1973. She was also
preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
