Mellenthin, Adelia (1894 - 1980)
Funeral services for Mrs. Adelia Mellenthin, 86, of 207 N. Pacific
St., Spencer, were conducted by Rev. Wm. Ruhbusch at Trinity
Lutheran Church, Spencer on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. Mrs. Joan
Stelzl was the organist and burial was in the church cemetery.
Adelia Schneider was born on April 14, 1894, in the Town of Unity,
Clark County, to the late Henry and Emma (nee Ewald) Schneider. She
received her education in the Town of Unity School.
She was married to Frank Mellenthin on April 29, 1914, in the Town
of Unity.
They farmed in the Town of Unity until retiring in 1948. They later
moved to Spencer.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its ladies aid.
She is survived by four sons, Norman of Route 1, Spencer Donald of
Huntington Beach, Cal. Harold of Portage and Lloyd of Anderson,
Ind. one daughter, Mrs. Erma Singstock of Wausau 13 grandchildren
11 great-grandchildren two sisters, Leona Bornowski of Wausau and
Vera Sloniker of Greenwood.
Her husband, Frank, preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1960. Also
deceased are her parents, five brothers and one sister.
Lynn, Donald, Mike and Douglas Mellenthin, Ronald Dietsche and John
Hadley served as pallbearers. Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, was in
charge of arrangements.
