Schwarze, Bertha (1899 - 1980)
Rev. Alwyn York officiated for the funeral of Mrs. Bertha Schwarze,
81, of 202 South Crocker, Greenwood, Clark County, at 11 a.m.,
Wednesday, Dec. 3 at Immanuel United Church of Christ,
Greenwood.
Mrs. Schwarze died Sunday morning, Nov. 30, 1980, at her home.
Serving as pallbearers were Alvin Albert, Albert Wehrman, Harvey
Goeke, Ervin Toburen, Alvin Wehrman and George Kuester. Burial was
in the West Side Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Homes were in charge of
arrangements.
Bertha Noah was born to Adolph and Louis (nee Hoele) Noah in the
Greenwood area on Aug. 9, 1899 and was educated at the Town of Mead
School.
She was married in the Town of Mead on Sept. 10, 1919, to Arthur
Schwarze. After their marriage they farmed in the Town of Warner
until 1975, when they retired and moved to the City of
Greenwood.
She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and the
Women's Guild.
Besides her husband, Arthur, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Leroy (Bernice) Fravert of Greenwood one son, Elmer of Minneapolis,
Minn. two brothers, Emil of Greenwood and Oscar of Cockrane, Wis.
two sisters, Mrs. Selma Holman of Grafton, Wis. and Mrs. Alvina
Peters of Milwaukee 12 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents one brother and one
sister.
