Ploman, Edward (1907 - 1980)
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 13, at 1:30 at Free
Methodist Church, Loyal, for Edward Ploman, 73, Route 1, Granton,
Clark County, who was found dead at 7 p.m. Wednesday at his home.
He had fallen from a ladder while cleaning the chimney of his
shop.
Edward Ploman was born on May 14, 1907 in Carroll County, Iowa, to
Edward Ploman, Sr. and Elizabeth (Mieke) Ploman. He was married to
Josephine Oestreich on Oct. 19, 1932 in Loyal. They lived in Unity
and the town of Fremont until 1967, when they moved to the town of
York, where he ran a saw mill.
He was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Loyal.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Glen, chili two daughters,
Mrs. William (Janice) Schrage, Wis. Rapids and Mrs. Darlene
Burlingame, Nelson nine grandchildren one brother, Walter, Marble
Falls, Texas and five sisters, Mrs. Anna Schofield, Cadott Mrs.
Helena Ross, Edgar Mrs. Rose Dietsche, Loyal Mrs. Selma Rueth,
Loyal and Mrs. Bertha Foster, Concord, Calif. He was predeceased by
one son, one sister, and two brothers.
Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, was in charge of
arrangements.
Officiating was Rev. Frank Mutchler. Burial was in Veefkind
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold Schlinsog, Everett Kauffman, Ross Stevens,
Leland Reich, Victor Anderson, and Bernard Clouse.
