Fahey, John (1895 - 1981)
John (Jack) Francis Fahey of 209 3rd Av., Stanley, died at Unity
Hospital in Minneapolis on Jan. 31, 1981 of a lingering
illness.
Rev. Clyde King officiated at the funeral service at Plombon
Funeral Home, Stanley, at 1:30 p.m., Feb. 3. Interment was in the
Loyal Cemetery.
John Fahey, 85, was born on March 15, 1895, in Greenwood, Clark
County, to Thomas and Matilda (Zestchi) Fahey and received his
education in Greenwood Schools.
He was married to Helen Shupe of Greenwood on Aug. 21, 1928.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War I in the 32nd Division
overseas. He began his career with Northern States Power Co. in
1926 in Greenwood, transferring to Owen in 1929, then to Stanley in
1930.
He served as local superintendent of the Stanley Office before
being named district manager in July 1954. He retired on March 31,
1961, and has lived in Stanley since his transfer there in
1930.
He was a member of Stanley Lions Club, American Legion Victory Post
112, Greenwood Lodge 249 F AM and the Presbyterian Church in
Stanley.
Survivors include nieces and a nephew, along with a number of
brothers-in-law.
Preceding him in death was his wife on April 21, 1975 and his
parents.
His nephews served as pallbearers. Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley,
was in charge of arrangements.
