Sternitzky, Martha (1893 - 1981)
Mrs. Martha Sternitzky, 87, of Memorial Home, Neillsville, Clark
County, died at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20, 1981, at Memorial
Home.
Officiating for the funeral at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, was
Rev. Horst Augustin, at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 23. Caroline Helm was
the organist and burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Stanley Sternitzky, Marvin Sternitzky, Jerry Schmitz, Gary
Sternitzky, Delmar Sternitzky, George Marco and Edward Grobe served
as pallbearers. Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, handled
arrangements.
Martha Burdick was born on Sept. 24, 1893, at Mount Tabor, Vernon
County, to Alfred and Flora (nee Kiser) Burdick. She received her
education at Maple Grove School in the Town of Lynn.
She married Louis Sternitzky in the Town of Lynn on Aug. 8, 1911.
He died on June 21, 1965.
They farmed in the Town of Lynn until 1960. She was a member of
Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, and its Ladies Aid.
Surviving are five sons, Melvin, Clarence and David of Granton;
George of Marshfield; and Thearon of Renton, Wash.; one daughter,
Mrs. Leslie (Clara) Lewis of Chili; 20 grandchildren 30
great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Ann) Pernsteiner,
Sr. of Greenwood.
