Gosar, Mary (1892 - 1981)

Mary Gosar, 88, Willard, Clark County, died Tuesday afternoon, March 17, 1981, at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 20, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, with Rev. James Lesczynski officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

 Laurence Artac, Robert Trunke, Anton Stroinski, Jim Kuznacic, Bill Sladich, Tom Shaw and Tony Gosar, all grandsons, served as pallbearers. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, handled arrangements.

Mary Remzgar was born on Nov. 21, 1892, to Anton and Anna (nee Cuden) Remzgar, and attended 4 years at school in Yugoslavia.

She came to the United States in 1900 and lived in Waukegan.

She married Frank Gosar on Jan. 17, 1909 in Waukegan, Ill. They lived in Waukegan a few years, moving to the Greenwood-Willard Area in 1912. They farmed all their lives.

Since her husband s death in July 1953, she had been living with her son, until two years ago when she moved to memorial Home, Neillsville.

She was a member and secretary for 56 years of the KSKJ 174 and was a member of Holy Family Parish.

An 8 p.m. Prayer Service was held on Thursday, March 19.

Surviving her are one son, Anton F. of Greenwood; seven daughters, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Artac of Greenwood; Sister M. Antonia (Frances) of Wabasha, Minn.; Mrs. John F. (Sophie) Trunkel of Willard; Mrs. Ignatz (Anne) Sladich of Greenwood; Mrs. John (Julie) Kuznacic of Sheboygan; Mrs. Elton (Cecilia) Shaw of Marshfield; and Mrs. Roman (Angela) Stroinski of Thorp; 36 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were one son, Frank, one brother and five sisters.
