Thwing, Ralph (1897 - 1981)
Ralph Thwing, 84, died Thursday evening, June 11, 1981, at Victory
Memorial Hospital, Stanley.
He was born Jan. 17, 1897, near Briggsville, Columbia County, to
Willamette and Clara Thwing. They moved to Clark County in 1899. He
attended La Tart School.
He served in France during World War I, He farmed in the Townships
of Beaver and Warner, later moving to the Stanley Area, where he
farmed before entering the Stanley Nursing Home. He was never
married.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, David and
Myron.
Surviving are two brothers, Rufus of Havana, N.D., and Henry of
Clintonville two sisters, Ruth Stowe of Abbotsford and Mrs. Albert
(Bernice) Ehlert of Owen, and 11 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were June 15 at 1 p.m. at Plombon Funeral Home,
Stanley. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
