Haunschild, Harlan E. (1915 - 1981)
Harlan E. Haunschild, 66, of 400 East Schofield, Greenwood, Clark
County, died Wednesday afternoon, July 15, 1981, at St. Joseph's
Hospital, Marshfield, at 2:10 p.m.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 18, at
Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood. Rev. Sam Kochel officiated
and interment was in the Severson Cemetery at Mondovi.
Mr. Haunschild was born on March 13, 1915, at Mondovi. He received
his education in Mondovi and also attended the University of
Wisconsin at Madison, where he studied agricultural science.
He was married to Stella Severson on Oct. 28, 1939 near
Mondovi.
He farmed in Mondovi until 1944, then moved to Loyal until 1948. He
then moved to Greenwood, where he operated Haunschild Implement
Store for ten years. He was also licensed as a master plumber. For
the past 16 years he was the Chief of Police at Greenwood, retiring
in March 1980.
He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Masonic
Lodge of Greenwood.
Survivors include his wife, Stella two daughters, Mrs. David (Mary
Ann) Zilz of Madison and Mrs. Thomas (Marilyn) Maruca of Arden
Hills, Minn. two sons, Dale of Hudson and Jon of Greenwood two
brothers, Milton of Spokane, Wash. and Lyman of Oceanside, Cal. two
sisters, Mrs. Albert (Ferne) Neuenfeldt of Greenwood and Mrs.
Charles (Audri) Allred of Virginia and eight grandchildren.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Gabby Schultz, Jim Simec and
Bunny Oldham. Pallbearers were David Bertz, Matt Del Fatti, Bob
Klinke, Ron Tieman, Jerry Hinker and Louie Albrecht. Rinka Funeral
Home, Greenwood, handled arrangements.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Louis and Mary (nee
Loesel) Haunschild.
