Smith, David (1904 - 1981)
Funeral services for David Smith, 77, Route 1, Loyal, Town of
Beaver, Clark County, will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 13, at
Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal.
Mr. Smith died at 10:30 p.m., Aug. 10, at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield.
Officiating at the service will be Rev. Maynard Tokka of Granton.
Burial will be in the Loyal Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as
pallbearers. Rinka Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The body will lie in state at Rinka Funeral Home after 4 p.m.,
Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Mr. Smith was born on June 27, 1904, in the Town of Beaver to
Charles and Jesse (nee Clouse) Smith. He attended Sunnyside School
in the Town of Beaver and business school in Wausau.
He was married on Oct. 19, 1923, at Loyal to Vera Garvin.
They farmed in the Town of Beaver until retiring in 1973, then they
lived there until his illness. She died on July 10, 1973.
He is survived by two sons, Donald of Loyal and Harry of Milwaukee
two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Jane) Bertz of Madison and Mrs. Kenneth
(Lois) Degenhardt of Milwaukee 18 grandchildren and 21
great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife and his parents.
