Trachte, Lorraine Estella (1912 - 2002)
NEILLSVILLE - Lorraine Estella Trachte, 89,
of Neillsville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at Neillsville
Memorial Nursing Home.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion
Lutheran Church in Granton with Pastor John Trewyn officiating. She
had requested her favorite songs, "How Great Thou Art" and "Someday
I'll Understand" to be sung and the 23rd Psalm to be read.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Russell Trachte, Bradley
Trachte, John Abrahamson, Craig Boyer, Kevin Boyer, Dennis Kurth,
David Kurth and Darin Kurth.
We shall miss her very much.
The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is serving the family.
She was born May 25, 1912, in the Town of Rock, Marshfield, to Mary
Theresa Frank and Joseph David. She attended Oak Leaf School in the
Town of Richfield. On March 18, 1931, she married Walter Trachte
and they lived on a farm south of Marshfield in the Town of Rock.
In 1940 they moved to a farm south of Granton and lived there for
four years. They then moved to a farm south of the Shortville Store
in the Town of Washburn. They farmed and lived there for 56 years.
On Sept. 22, 1992, Walter passed away and she continued to live
there until June of 1994 when she moved to the Country View
Apartments in Neillsville. She worked at Memorial Medical Center
for 22 years, was 4-H leader of the Shortville Hustlers for many
years, a bloodmobile volunteer, a member of the Washburn Homemakers
and Cannonville Ladies Aide and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in
Granton.
She leaves behind five children, Byron (Caryl) of Pensacola, Fla.,
Arnold (Allene) of Pink Hill, N. C., Arlene (Lyle) Abrahamson of
Fairchild, Bernice (Chuck) Boyer of Neillsville and Karen (Wayne)
Kurth of Neillsville 13 grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond David, in 1965.
